The Role:
− To champion the EPIC behaviours and EPIC Excellence programme
− To provide technical Continuous Improvement expertise to all levels of operational management to minimise business costs
− Improve efficiencies and business processes (eliminating wasteful practices)
− Develop culture supporting improvement and change.
− Project Management – Manage all EPIC idea improvement projects on site to ensure successful implementation to timelines with all benefits, savings realised and recorded.
− To achieve agreed budget through Continuous Improvement Management.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
− Deliver the agreed savings target set for Continuous Improvement for the site
− Through Continuous Improvement achieve overall site budget targets.
− Identify wastes and excessive costs within site operational processes.
− Manage the elimination of wastes and costs to improve efficiency and output.
− Prioritise improvement activities to achieve the greatest financial and business results and ensure the most appropriate tools and techniques are used to maximise financial savings and non-financial benefits.
− Deliver tangible cost savings through the DMAIC, Lean and EPIC excellence processes.
− Engage with staff to instil a culture of change and Continuous Improvement. Through Communication groups and management meetings.
− Develop and deliver training for all levels of staff from operatives upwards on Continuous Improvement tools, Lean techniques, identifying waste in process and concepts and benefits of continuous improvement across the business.
− Work towards external recognition for JDM through Business Excellence (e.g. EFQM, Investors in People, etc)
− Mentor and support trained EPIC Excellence colleagues to spread continuous improvement competencies across the business.
− Report on a monthly basis to Head of Business Excellence on monthly financial results on Continuous Improvement
− Achieve targets set within Meeting our Corporate, Social and Environmental responsibilities
− Support the completion of annual customer and employee satisfaction surveys
