The Role:

Working across the Logistics function, oversee, coordinate and manage the daily operation whilst showing strong leadership skills and a commitment to optimising warehouse processes. The role requires strategic thinking and exceptional organizational skills to drive operational efficiency, manage teams effectively, and ensure the successful achievement of departmental goals. This role is pivotal in maintaining efficient inventory management, ensuring smooth logistics, and supervising a team to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Champion and ensure company Health and Safety, Food Safety and GMP policies & standards set, are followed.
  • Lead and oversee a team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members to maximize their potential and performance.
  • Coordinate and prioritize team tasks and projects, ensuring timely and successful completion within set deadlines and quality standards.
  • Liaise with other Supervisors where required to ensure staffing requirement needs are met. Be instrumental in ensuring cross department collaboration is promoted and supported.
  • Set clear team objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and regularly assess and monitor progress towards goals. Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for skills development and training.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication, idea sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Act as a point of contact for addressing team challenges and providing solutions to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify areas for process enhancement, efficiency improvements, and implement best practices to optimize team workflows.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, achievements, and challenges to upper management.
  • Be able to conduct investigations to provide information into root causes of any incidents that may arise in the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements within your area.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in line with company GMP Policy, ensuring the department is always audit ready.
  • Supporting the Logistics Section Manager to deliver effective decision making by providing relevant data, information and support when requested.
  • Any further duties as may be required as deemed necessary.
  • Undertake any in house or external training sessions as required.

Skills & Qualifications Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, demonstrating the ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams to achieve goals.
  • Able to demonstrate strategic planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions and drive initiatives towards success.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities through adaptability and navigate changing priorities and environments to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback in addition to being able to interact with team members, upper management, and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of supply chain principles, including procurement, inventory management, transportation, and distribution.
  • Understanding of cost management, and financial implications within logistics operations to optimize spending and improve business growth.
  • Strong IT Skill – Specifically in using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous Experience in working with SAP or a WMS is advantageous.

Hours of work

  • Full time 06:00 – 18:00 working to a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
