As we continue to expand and optimise our technology infrastructure, we are seeking a skilled and experienced SAP Systems Manager to join our IT team. This key role will be responsible for overseeing and managing our SAP B1 system ensuring effective implementation, maintenance, and enhancement to support the company’s operations and strategic objectives from order to fulfilment.
  • As the SAP Systems Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our SAP implementation. You will be responsible for overseeing SAP B1 projects, maintaining system integrity, and managing a direct report to deliver high-quality solutions. Your expertise in SAP B1 system administration, project management, and team leadership will be instrumental in driving business success and optimizing our use of SAP technology.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. SAP B1 System Management:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of SAP B1 systems to ensure their performance, stability, and reliability.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for SAP B1 system administration, including system upgrades, patches, and security configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of SAP B1 systems with other business applications.
  1. SAP B1 Implementation and Upgrades:
  • Lead and manage SAP implementation, enhancement, and optimisation projects from initiation to completion.
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure the ERP system remains up-to-date and aligned with business needs.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and smooth go-live.
  1. Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor a SAP B1 Systems Support Administrator, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Identify training needs and provide opportunities for skill development to enhance the team’s capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  1. Systems Analysis and Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct thorough analysis of SAP B1 systems to identify issues, root causes, and areas for improvement.
  • Proactively monitor system performance, user activity, and data integrity, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage and assist with queries from end users across the business
  • Coordinate with IT support team members, vendors and/or SAP B1 support providers to resolve complex technical issues.
  1. Business Process Optimisation:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into effective SAP solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Develop and implement standardised procedures and workflows and provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective SAP B1 system utilisation.
  1. Compliance and Security
  • Ensure SAP B1 systems adhere to industry standards, data protection regulations, and internal security policies.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and risk assessments to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Help to ensure there is a robust backup policy and disaster recovery plan in place to ensure prompt system recovery and minimal downtime in the event of outages.

Personal Attribute & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field highly desirable.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in SAP B1 HANA system administration in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP B1 modules, functionalities and addons, including ProcessForce and Boyum.
  • Experience with SAP B1 implementation, upgrades, and system integration projects.
  • Experience with MRP, WMS and QM modules highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of and ability to write SQL queries.
  • Experience in writing and modifying Crystal reports.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Demonstratable ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • SAP B1 certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate) are desirable but not mandatory.
  • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Experience desirable.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
