The Role:

As Senior Business Development Manager, your role will be two fold, continuing to develop and grow our core accounts within each channel as well as delivering new ‘Drive’ customers to the business.
The position is central to the profitable growth of JDM Food Group Ltd, a rapidly growing food manufacturing business producing both sweet and savoury ingredients, sauces, marinades, dips and dressings serving the retail, food manufacturing, home meal delivery and foodservice sectors.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • To support the Commercial Director in delivery of new business by understanding the customer, the category and developing a strategy that is aligned to JDM’s capabilities.
    • Working across multiple functions within the business you will lead projects from their ideation to fruition, having a keen eye for food trends and translating this into products that deliver for the consumer and are profitable for the business.
    • You will lead negotiations with current and new customers ensuring profitable and efficient growth aligned with our future targets.
    • Proposing new channels and customers within Foodservice will be key to the success of this role, meaning that the Senior Business Development Manager must be confident in their ideas and bringing them to market.
    • Understanding the P&L to continually improve profitability will be key.
    • Increase our customer base in new markets, taking our current ‘Drive’ customers into Europe in a way that is efficient for the factory, therefore International travel will be required.
    • Support other members of your team to bring product concepts to market across a wider customer base.
    • Gaining long term contracts with customers will be essential.
    • Maintaining accurate records and following the business processes, as well as proposing new costed processes that increase our success within FS and HMD is important.
    • Developing business relationships across internal business functions.

Personal Attribute and skills:

  • You will be an experienced Senior Commercial Manager or Business Develop who is well known within the food industry looking to further your career development in a challenging and extremely dynamic environment.
  • Foodservice and Home Meal Delivery experience would be highly preferable.
  • Strong IT skills essential – In particular, Excel knowledge such as formula’s, pivot tables etc.
  • Strong communication skills both in person and via other means such as telephone or Teams.
  • Be able to self-motivate and be entrepreneurial.
  • Be able to use own initiative.
  • Show a positive attitude to customers and the JDM team.
  • Show a helpful, open and respectful attitude to all aspect of your position.
  • Have a polite manor when dealing with outside customers, visitors and colleagues.
  • Be proactive in looking for solutions to improve any working area.
  • To have flexible working approach to all aspects of the role that applies to this position.
  • Good problem solver.
