The Role:
As a Multiskilled Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day engineering planned and unplanned maintenance of all equipment on site. You will support the engineering team to close out any corrective actions in a timely manner. You will lead by example, providing good Health and Safety guidance to both visitors and contractors, while working in a safe working environment. You will deputise for the Engineering Manager in their absence.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
SAFETY:
– Comply and maintain safe production processes, including following appropriate food safety and Health and Safety procedures, while keeping data and reports up to date.
– Support with routine safety audits and inspections
– Report on near misses within your own department, and other areas of the business
FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY:
– Support audits, where requested to help to rectify any areas of concern in the business
– Report any food safety near misses or concerns to the relevant section manager or manufacturing manager
OPERATIONAL:
– Support by carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance actions on a daily basis
– Support the site engineering teams to ensure that the operation and maintenance of all machinery, equipment and engineering facilities are working effectively and to a high standard.
– Attend call outs to departments for any unplanned breakdowns and record all downtime
– Update the Maintain-X system with all jobs
– Analyse departmental needs and develop effective solutions to support the business
– Support the department with any project work to help implement Business objectives
– Explore and propose any solutions to maintenance issues to the lead engineer
– Update records as and where required for the engineering department
– Achieve Key Performance Targets as agreed with Management
– Have good housekeeping habits, disposing of packaging, wrapping etc. around your job own role
– Ensure that workshop facilities and canteen are maintained and cleaned frequently and to the correct standard
– Be proactive in looking for solutions to improve any working area – Quality and Continuous Improvement (QCIT)
– To plan, control and implement agreed project works, within given timescales
– Use Company business software where necessary – Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and SAP with training
– To maintain detailed, accurate and timely records of root causes of failures and work carried out
– Be able to review and make improvements to customer service
