The Role:
The Logistics Team Leader will be responsible for operating MHE and managing the daily operation in the Logistics function. They will provide support to the Logistic Supervisor and deputise when required. They will need to ensure targets for the area are met and uphold a high standard within the working area. The ideal candidate should have experience in leading a team operating MHE and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. The role requires strategic thinking and organizational skills to drive operational efficiency in line with outload and production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensure Health & Safety of yourself and others within the department and adhere to all safety procedures and protocols while operating MHE or performing any manual handling.
- Safely and efficiently operate MHE when required, to move materials or finished goods to and from storage areas, loading docks, trucks, or other locations within the logistics function and manage team members to the same high standard of safety.
- Conduct daily maintenance checks of MHE ensuring compliance of team members conducting checks, such as inspecting forklift parts, checking fluid levels, and reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks or vehicles using MHE equipment, ensuring proper handling and stacking of goods by team members.
- Manage the daily picking of customer orders accurately for despatch and delivery nationwide.
- Perform inventory control tasks such as counting stock, verifying inventory, and reporting discrepancies to supervisors or Stock Analysts when required.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to the area of operation, inventory counts, and material movement as required as well as staff holiday management.
- Communicate and collaborate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and fulfilment of orders.
- Assist with labelling and booking in process of inbound goods where required before relocating the stock to the relevant storage locations.
- Picking and decanting products required for Tempering. Load & set tempering units and completing any paperwork as required.
- Ensure and assist in general cleaning and recycling duties around the Warehouses and site ensuring GMP Standards are upheld as well as operating cardboard and film bailers and refuse compactors.
- Undertake any other duties as outlined by superiors in a proactive manner leading by example.

Skills Required:
- Previous experience in team leadership and development.
- Relevant RTITB or equivalent qualifications in line with the MHE utilised will be beneficial.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to operate any MHE in compliance with safety standards.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, follow instructions, and collaborate with coworkers to accomplish tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory counts and proper handling of materials.
- Previous experience of working within logistics Department beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, upper management, and stakeholders.
- Ability to self-manage and have the flexibility and adaptability to navigate changing priorities and environments.
- SAP or WMS understanding beneficial but not essential.
- Strong Microsoft suite skills and understanding.
Hours of Work:
- Full time 07:00 – 19:00 working to a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
