JDM is such a diverse business that no two days are ever the same. With packaging involved to in every area of the business, wholehead, low care, high care and high risk it means we are working with numerous different substrates and suppliers, from buckets to retail ready presentation boxes.

As Packaging Technologist for JDM I’m involved with every element of packaging on site, primary, secondary and transit packaging.  I am involved from NPD stage right through to launch and then looking at any reported running or technical complaints from production. We also regularly look at our specifications and costs to make sure we are using the correct suppliers and receiving the best product for the best price!

A major part of my role is to make sure that we are up to date on all the latest technology to ensure we offer not only the most cost effective but most sustainable solution to our customers. The Packaging Industry is constantly developing new substrates  to conform to both the Governments and the retailers recycling and sustainability targets and we need to make sure we are doing as much as we can to be in line with these targets.
